Death Upon a Time

In this enchanted duel of wits and fate, you stand as a beleaguered monarch who has struck a curious pact with Death itself. 

Each round, you and your spectral opponent each play a numbered card (1–5), though an arcane effect drawn at random— perhaps “the highest card loses” or “odd numbers carry a lethal curse”— may upend your plans.

Victory in a round spares souls of your people; defeat consigns them to Death’s ledger.

Goal

Save as many souls as possible from Death by playing cards against him. The more rounds you win, the more people from your kingdom you will save!

How to play

Each round, choose a card to play (Left Mouse Click). Depending on the card’s effect, you will either win and save a soul, or lose and surrender one to Death — who will jealously trap it in his jar.
